On 7 th February 2024, The Manju Shahul-Hameed Foundation orchestrated an astonishing feeding the homeless event as an act of support and care for those in need. The doors of West Croydon Methodist Church opened wide as the clocks chimed 11 oâclock. This occasion was not only a display of collective goodwill but also a form of the foundationâs undeniable dedication
to bringing a positive difference to everyoneâs lives.
This foundation was founded seven years ago and since then, has continually hosted such events and has brought a beacon of hope to all communities, which has led them to organise this day filled with love, warmth and nutrition for the homeless. The plates were not only filled with nourishing food, but also the spirit of togetherness and humanity.
This day however could not have been possible without the remarkable sponsors from the mAhmadiya Muslim Community UK who provided the delightful hot food for everyone there. Their generosity was reflected by the priceless smiles on the attendeesâ faces at the end of the day. Addressing their contribution, a representative from Ahmadiya Muslim Community UK conveyed, ”We are so pleased to be involved in such a significant initiative. The Manju Shahul-Hameed Foundation’s dedication to helping the homeless falls exactly in line with our values, and we are so grateful for the chance to contribute to this cause.”
Two people who attended the Homeless Feeding also expressed their boundless gratitude for their day of endless laughter and chatter. Shanti said, âI really enjoyed the biriyani, and I had such an amazing time with everyone, and it made me realise that there is so much kindness in our communityâ. Joseph echoed these words as he said âI havenât felt this happy in years, this
event really made us feel seen and valued. The food was also top notch.â
The success of this homeless feeding event cannot be put into words as it not only fed the homeless but also brought the community together for a laughter-filled day and created a lasting, positive change in each and every one of their lives. One day, one meal can make a huge difference. The Manju Shahul-Hameed Foundation and Ahmadiya Muslim Community UK worked together, with a shared goal to ignite a spark of hope in those who need it most.
Reflecting on this marvelous event shows that every small act of kindness will result in a significant change for the good. Together we can continue to support the community and make the world a brighter and more compassionate place for everyone.
